Short answer: to quote land freight you need the exact origin and destination, type of goods, weight, volume and pickup date. The price changes with distance, type of unit, whether the load is full (FTL) or shared (LTL) and border procedures.
Local freight and regional freight
Local freight moves cargo within Nicaragua, for example between the Port of Corinto, Managua and Estelí. Regional freight crosses borders to Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama and other countries, and includes customs procedures at each crossing. According to a SIECA report (2018), most intra-regional trade moves by land because its costs are lower than those of other modes. FTL or LTL: which to choose
FTL (full truckload) means the truck is used only for your goods. LTL (less than truckload) means you share space with other cargo and pay for what you occupy. If your volume does not fill a unit, LTL can reduce the cost, although delivery time may be longer. The full comparison is in FTL, LTL, FCL and LCL: meaning and which to choose.

What happens at the border
A 2013 IDB study found that the lack of integration and information exchange between authorities lengthens the time needed to cross a border. Since 2024 SIECA has been promoting the Central American Single Invoice and Declaration (FYDUCA), which combines the commercial invoice and the declaration in a single electronic document. Your customs agent will tell you which documents apply at each crossing.
